The funniest moment we remember was when Richard showed us the latest addition to the accessories on his scooter. He had added small lights to the handle bars. His way of keeping up with today’s fashionable light omitting diodes found on today’s modern cars! They reminded us of a miniature version of Blackpool illuminations! He told us that he was continually experiencing a flat battery, the power consumption was too great for the alternator to cope! With a bottle of wine inside one side of his jacket and a jar of jam on the other side, (which we had given him), he proudly mounted his scooter, then we heard the starter motor turn the engine over to no avail. After a second attempt the engine finally came to life. Full of anticipation, with a big smile on his face he let in the clutch and promptly stalled. He finally got it going, and with a big wave drove off into the sunset, classic Richard!
