With me just about being part of the family, my memories with Richard, there are so many of the 7 years spent with Charlie, Jean, Dan and Chris. From the years that I have known Richard all of them have been great fun. How could it not be with him and his quick-witted sense of humour. I do remember when Richard, Jean and Charlie and I were in Castalla in Spain and we spent the afternoon in town. Richard being Richard, he loved the corner shop bazaar which is perfect for him as it sells fantastic, tacky, cheap gadgets. He wouldn’t spend a lot, but always a small cheap gadget nearly every day. One day he bought a speaker set for his ipod. I think it was about £3 or so. Anyway we were all sitting up on the roof terrace having a few glasses of wine. Richard had got his speakers working and music was playing very loudly. While he was lying back on his chair with his wine, Jean was shouting at him to turn it down. He did but it just kept going back to loud again. By this time it was becoming a little annoying and Richard was enjoying that. Suddenly the whole system packed up. Complete silence ... what bliss! He was nearly on the verge of taking it to bits to fix it but we were all in stitches with laughter because it wasn’t working. Anyway, later on that holiday we drove up to Maxie and Russell’s and went into Ulldecona town near them to the market. Again looking at gadgets Richard had a feeling that the market guys were Arabic so Richard said goodbye to them in Arabic “Maaselama” to which they replied “Ah Barcelona!” You were a very good friend to me. We did a lot together and I loved every minute of your company. I miss you so much and don’t think there will be a day that goes by that I won’t think of you and the good times we had together. You did a lot for me and I am very grateful. I hope I will stay with Charlie and be part of your family for a very long time. I said “are you dead yet?” Naaa. You’re not, you’re still around and always will be.
