We all knew Dickie for his irrepressible and often irreverent sense of humour but who could ever forget also his flamboyant dress sense. He stood out in a crowd at any time, in more ways than one, but never more so than when the ‘Rufford Gang’ spent an hilarious weekend in a Lake District youth hostel in 1995. We were all dressed in normal, casual walking gear, as one would expect for exploring the lakes, but not our Dickie! Clad in a long black leather coat, black leather hat and sunglasses with shutter flaps, he was a dead ringer for Herr Flick! My happy memories of that weekend will live with me forever. Bless you Dickie.
